AWARD TO REPORTER
U.S. Travel For City Man A senior reporter of the Christchurch “Star” has been selected as the New Zealand journalist to visit North America this year under a United States Government
State Department grant. He is Mr M. C. Dick, who will spend two months working on an American newspaper and a further month touring the United States. Mr Dick, who is 26, was born in Invercargill and educated at New Plymouth and Palmerston North Boys’ High Schools. He began his career in journalism in 1952 on the staff of the Manawatu “Standard” and six years later joined the “Star,” where he is now aviation reporter.
