Situation.—A ridge of high pressure extends over the North Island from an anti-cyclone centred over south-east Australia. A disturbed westerly airstream covers the South Island. Forecast:— Canterbury and Marlborough.—Light to moderate variable winds, south-westerlies predominating this morning in coastal Canterbury; cloudy areas clearing: fine later with mild day temperatures. Outlook: fine. Nelson.—Light to moderate winds, mainly south-westerlies; fine with mild day temperatures. Outlook: fine.
