CUSTOMS FORMS OF ENTRY
Issue For New Tariff
New customs entry forms would be issued for the new tariff which would be introduced on July 1, the Comptroller of Customs (Mr J. F. Cummings) announced this week.
Copies are available for inspection by the public at all custom-houses. The Collector of Customs in .Canterbury (Mr W. G Lowriei said that more statistical information on imports and exports would ,be available when the new forms were in use.
Importers who have considerable quantities of the present forms on hand will be permitted to use them until September 30 of this year. Importers who have no present forms may use the new ones before July 1 if they are amended to comply with the existing law. The new forms for export entry will come into use on June 16, which is the beginning of the new month for export trade statistics. Exporters may use the new forms before that time and the present ones until September 15 for “single line” entries.
