Society's Plan For Satellite Tracking “We are at present negotiating for a site at West Melton on which to build an observatory for tracking artificial satellites.” said Mr P. J. Alley, president of the Canterbury Astronomical Society, at the annual meeting. “We will build the observatory out of town, because of the glow and smog around the city.” Officers elected were: president, Mr Alley; vicepresident, Mr F. Andrews; secretary, Mr S, F. Phipps; treasurer, Mr I. R. Bennington; auditor, Mr R. J. Moore; committee, Messrs C. S. L. Keay, P. W. Andrews, P. Maxwell, W. H. Allen, Al R. Messenger, N. E.
