CITY BILL FOR POWER
Waimairi Refuses To Pay The Waimairi County Council has refused to pay to the city counctl an account of £10,600 for street lighting. “They can take us to court if they like, but we are not paying,” the chairman (Mr J. I. Colligan) said.
Last year, when the city council decided to pay its own street lighting costs out of the general funds of the Municipal Electricity Department, the county council asked for its street lighting to be treated in a similar manner. This was refused by the city council
