Tree Losses Light
Tree losses in the State forests in Canterbury were remarkably light, in the recent storm, and less than was thought likely, said the Conservator of Forests in Christchurch (Mr H. V. Hinds). There were no losses reported from Balmoral, and only a few in the AsMey State Forest. Eyrewell, where iin of rain fell and gale-force winds were recorded, fared worst. But even there the lose was light.
