RAGLAN AIR CRASH
Right To Call Inquiry 7 (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. April 18. The investigation into the Raglan air crash was not yet complete as he had a right to call for an inquiry, said Mr J. R. Draffin. the pilot’s father and executor, in Auckland tonight. He had this right under the Civil Aviation Investigation of Accidents' Regulations, 1953. Mr Draflin said the chief inspector of accidents, Mr M. J. O’Brien, must know that his report could not be completed until an executor had dispensed with this right or an inquiry had been held. He had not yet notified Mr O’Brien that he did want an inquiry and the inspector was well aware of this. “I am at a loss to understand.” Mr Draflin said, “why this report should have been made public when it is still sub judice.” (Earlier Report Page 19.)
