NEW WING FOR SCHOOL
£29,000 Contract Let Work has begun on the new wing for the Rangi-ruru School. The successful tenderer was Husband Bros . Ltd., of Christchurch, at £29 000. The new wing will provide six classrooms, a science laboratory, a staff room, and an office for the headmistress. The board of governors of the school appealed for interest-free loans from former pupils, parents and friends of the school. The sum of £12.000 was lent in this way. The foundation stone for the new wing will be laid on May 30 by the Very Rev. J. Baird, a former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand and the firs* chairman of the school’s board of governors.
