SAFETY BELTS IN COUNCIL CARS
The use of safety belts in City Council traffic department cars had been discussed. and it was probable that the belts would be introduced soon, said the City Council traffic auperintendent *Mr J. F. Thomas). Safety belts came into use in all Transport Department cars on April 1 after the Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine) directed that the department should set this standard of road safety for the public.
