Floyd Patterson will probably defend his world heavy-weight title against Sonny Liston at New York's Yankee Stadium on September 17 or at tha New York . Polo Grounds on September 26. This was announced yesterday by the promoter, Mr Tom Bolan, of Championship Sports. He said the heavy-weight bout In New York was depenState Boxing Commission. Mr Bolan predicted tha fight would gross more than six million dollars. Pattenon would get 45 per cent, of the live gate receipts and 55 per eent. of the anctllfary rights covering closed circuits television, radio and films. If Liston wins there will be a rematch no later than September 30. IM3
Carruthers May Fight In NX
(N.Z. Prett Association) WKLUNGTON. April 17. The former world bantamweight boxing champion. J. Carruthers, may fight at Wellington. The Wellington Boxing Association will meet tomorrow night to discuss an offer to the Australian. If Carruthers accepts the terms, he will probably be matched with the New Zealand light-weight.
