Vanishing Era
Worthing Museum, which has a rapidly-growing costume collection, wants to preserve present-day dress for the interest of generations to come and is asking for a teddy boy costume “with narrow trousers, fancy waistcoat. three-quarter jacket, Slim Jim tie and thick-soled crepe sneakers.” The museum says the fashion had already passed and been replaced by the Italian style.
