No Work At Lyttelton
Waterfront work at Lyttelton stopped yesterday because of the rain and wind and labour was dismissed at 5 p.m Heavy seas pounded the harbour shores, and launch services to Diamond Harbour were interrupted. No damage was reported. Several sailings will be delayed as a result of the weather and one overseas vessel, the Auckland Star, which is cruising off the heads will now berth today The small coastal vessel Pareto which put into Lyttelton for shelter on Sunday evening, left for Kaiapoi yesterday morning but twm other vessels, the River City and Holmlea are still sheltering and will sail when the weather improves.
