North Canterbury C.W.I. Executive
Five new members were welcomed to the North Canterbury executive of Country Women's Institutes when Mrs G. Crossen presided over “a meeting in the Waipara Hall recently. Arrangements were made for a festival at Waipara and an indoor bowls tournament. The voluntary organisers reported on visits to many C.W.l.'s. Mrs Crossen reported on a meeting with other Canterbury federations, held to discuss the proposed display at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Centenary Show. The display will compare women's life today with that of 100 years ago Institute members will be asked for suitable articles of handwork from the 1860 period.
