SIR ALEXANDER BUSTAMENTE, the new Prime Minister of the British colony of Jamaica, casting his vote in Kingston. The election was to choose a government for Jamaica after the island is given independence by Britain on August 6. Sir Alexander Bustamente, leader of the Labour Party, gained a Parliamentary majority over the former Prime Minister, Mr Norman Manley.
