U.S. USING MORE WOOL
In the United States, latest statistics show an improvement in mill consumption of apparel wool. In 1961. consumption was 263 million lb. —8 per cent, up on the 1960 total, according to Dalgety and New Zealand Loan's news service. The output of wool suits increased 7 per cent in contrast with an 8 per cent, decline in those made of other fabrics. Production of wool content slacks was three times greater than slacks made of other fabrics, while women’s wool suits showed a 10 per cent, rise against a 38 per cent, decline in suits made of other fabrics.
