MINOR FIRES
An oven fire at the home of Mr C. Butler. 144 Grahams road, was attended by one unit from the Central Fire Station at 2.45 p.m. yesterday. A bedside lampshade caught fire at the home of Rosemary Hemstone. 129 Manchester street, on Saturday. One unit from the central. station answered a call at 3.9 p m. A grass fire on .a vacant section, at the rear of 477 Linwood avenue was extinguished by units from the Central and Woolston stations at 6.31 p.m. The owner of the property is Mr J. W. Thomson.
A quarter acre of logs and old tree stumps on the property of J. Tir.niswood at Diamond Harbour caught fire about 6 p.m. on Saturday The • blaze was extinguished by the local brigade.
