ACCIDENT NEAR KUMARA
Three Injured When Car Strikes Tree
Three Greymouth youths were admitted to the Grey Hospital early yesterday morning as the result of a motor-car accident on the Mitchells-Kumara highway at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday. They were: Murray Rattray. aged 17, Blake street, Blaketown. both suffering aged 19. Achilles street. Biaketaown. both suffaring from concussion and minor head injuries, and Douglas McMinn, aged 17, Preston road. Blaketown, with a fractured skull. The conditions of all three were reported by the hospital authorities last evening to be satisfactory. The injured youths were passengers in a car driven by Brian Robert Urquhart, aged 18, of Preston road. The vehicle was travelling on the main highway when it skidded off the road, into a bank, and struck a tree eight miles from Kumara.
Homework Problem.— Police in Toronto who caught a gang of thieves with a stolen, but still unopened safe, were told the thieves took it home to study it in case they came up against the same type of lock again.
