PLAYER DIES IN HOSPITAL
Collapsed During Rugby Match (JV.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. April 15. An Australian member of the Kiwis Rugby Union team. Ulyses Xerous. collapsed during an inter-club match at Melbourne yesterday and died shortly afterwards. Xerous staggered from a scrum and collapsed near the sideline. Ke was taken to hospital, but died without regaining consciousness. Xerous, aged 33, married with two children, returned to active Rugby after an absence of some years and was captaining the Kiwis for the fifth time, in a match against Harlequins Xerous began his association with the Kiwis in 1948 He was a club delegate to the Victorian Rugby Union Council.
