TWO BODIES RECOVERED
Waihi Launch Tragedy (HZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 15. The bodies of the two missing victims from the boating tragedy at Bowentown harbour, near Waihi, eight days ago, were recovered yesterday afternoon. They were those of Mr Moore Francis Haszard, aged 52, assistant manager of the Akrad Radio Corporation, Ltd., of Symonds street, Waihi, and Mr Weston «•• Woods Mahood, aged 43, telecommunications engineer for the same company, of Barry road, Waihi. The bodies of two other men lost when the launch Roslind was smashed on the bar of the harbour were found on the day of the accident. A fifth occupant of the launch. Peter Haszard, aged 14, staggered ashore four hours later on the Waihi beach. The body of Mr Haszard was found by a searcher on the sea coast of Matakana Island, north of Tauranga, about 1.30 p.m. yesterday. That of Mr Mahood was recovered from the sea off Schooner Pock, about 15 miles east of Mount Maunganui. by the crew of the Auckland fishing launch, Waipawa. It was taken to Tauranga by the launch Zealandia. An inquest into the deaths of the two men was opened in Tauranga by Mr B K Gifford, J.P. After evidence of identification had been given, it was adjourned sine die.
