2 TRAMPERS MISSING
Search Being Organised (NJ!. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 15. Two Upper Hutt men were feared lost behind Whiteman's Valley in the Mount Climie area when they failed to return tohight from a tramping expedition. They are: Raymond John Palmer, 26, of Mangaroa, and Kenneth Robert Meyrick. 31, of Te Maroa. They are married to sisters and are partners in an Upper Hutt tiling firm.
Late tonight, the Search and Rescue Organisation was arranging a 12-man party to start a search if the men have not returned by daylight tomorrow. The men were due to have returned by lunch-time today. It is believed that one at least Is an inexperienced tramper.
No organised search was taking place tonight. Although the weather was cool and rain was falling, there was little danger of exposure being excessive.
