FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A deep depression centred south-east of Cook Strait is moving rapidly away to the southeast. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate westerly winds. Weather partly cloudy with moderate temperatures. A southerly change with showers is likely late in the day in Marlborough. Outlook: scattered showers. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate winds from a southerly quarter. Cloudy with scattered showers in Bullir, but partly cloudy in Westland. Rather cold temperatures. Outlook: fine. ■ Canterbury.—Fresh south-westerly winds. Cloudy and cold with showers of rain and hail. Outlook: showery.
