Closing-Day Carnival Several good times were recorded at the closing day carnival held by the Elmwood Swimming Club. In the younger age groups the races were keenly contested, particularly in the boys’ under 12 section. Award winners were:—W, Williamson (Bailins Cup, senior men); Miss C. Macdonald (Donnelly Cup, senior women): M. Hay (Phillips Clip, intermediate boys and girls); J. Hay (Eaton Cup, junior boys): Miss N. Clark (junior girls’ cup); R. Rough (Symes memorial trophy); Miss J. Reid (Symes memorial trophy); M. Hay (Holland Cup, open, and President’s Cup, medley). Results were:— Senior Men,—loo yards freestyle: W. Williamson 1.
