Youth Awarded £192

A youth whose ankle was broken in a collision between a car and a motor-scooter on which he was a passenger was awarded £lOO general damages and £92 8s 3d special damages by a Supreme Court jury yesterday. Wi Hankino Paurini, aged 18. a roller driver (Mr A. D. Holland!, had claimed £550 general damages from Brian David Taylor, a workman (Mr J. F. Burn). The accident in which Paurini was injured occurred at the intersection of Colombo street and Moorhouse avenue on July 16, 1961. Paurini sued through his guardian, William Stevenson.

The jury found that Taylor had been negligent in failing to keep a proper look-out. It found that he had not been negligent in failing to give way to traffic approaching from his right. The action was heard before Mr Justice Macarthur.
