HOUSING LOANS
Extended Limit Scheme (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 13 More than 1000 loans worth almost £3 million had been made by the Government since last August under the extended loan limit scheme for new houses, the Minister of Housing (Mr Rac) said today. Mr Rae said the scheme provided loans up to 100 per cent, of the cost of new houses with a limit of £2700, where the applicant owned a suitable section. To date 1063 loans, totalling £2,951.035. had been authorised.
Test Protest.—A strong protest against the proposed nuclear testing on Christmas Island has been sent to the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and Mr C F Skinner, member of Parliament for Buller, by the Buller Play Centre Association.—<PA)
