Darts For Dogs
The Miri District Council, in the British colony of Sarawak, has a deadly method of dealing with stray dogs. A council employee at Miri goes about with a blowpipe. Any unregistered (or even registered dog that looks uncared for) has a poison dart blown at it. The animal usually dies in less than two minutes The council’s method was described by its treasurer. Mr Lim Kit Being, who is studying local government in New Zealand, when he addressed the Onehunga Borough Council.
