COOK ISLANDS’ GIRL GUIDES
Training Course In City ( N .Z. Pres* Association) AUCKLAND, March 8. Four girl guide leaders from the Cook Islands arrived at Auckland in the Moana Boa today. They are Miss N. Iro, Miss T. Tereora, Miss M. Paitai and Mrs Ta Upu, all of Rarotonga. They will stay in New Zealand for 10 weeks’ training with the Girl Guides’ Association. Miss Iro and Miss Tereora will be tested for their training diploma® in Christchurch. If they pass they will be able to train guide leaders when they return to the Cook Islands. Miss Paitai and Mrs Ta Upu will be taking a course from brownie leaders in the North Island. All four have visited New Zealand previously. There are 28 guide companies and 15 brownie packs in the Cook Islands.
