New Zealand Shares Again Firmer
New Zealand shares were again very firm yesterday, with 12 rises and eight falls. Hawkins Holdings, in first business for some time, made the day's best gain. Milburn Lime, which are ex dividend of 9d today, fell Is 9d. Overseas shares tended to weaken. Broken Hill Proprietary fell a further Is 6d to s«s, and Clyde Industries lost lOd to 9s 7d. Planet Oil Is paid shares; which tame on the market in Australia on Tuesday—when more than 200,000 shares were traded in Sydney alone —had first New Zealand business. A sale was made in Auckland at 5s fid, compared with 6s 3d in Melbourne on Wednesday.
