Carriage Of Parcels On Buses
An appeal by the New Zealand Railway* Department against the right of Midland Motorways Services, Ltd., to carry parcels on its buses serving between Christchurch and Dunedin has been disallowed by the Transport Licensing Appeal Authority. However, an amendment restricting the type of parcel which may be carried has been included in Midland Motorways’ licence. Parcels may now be carried only in those parts of the buses designed for baggage. Except for passengers’ hand luggage, no parcels can be carried in the passengers’ seated area.
