Defence Plans Upheld
(NX. Press Assn —Copyright > LONDQN, March 6. The House of Commons tonight rejected a Labour Opposition motion of no confidence in the Government’s defence policy by 312 votes to 226. The Commons then voted 310 votes to 223 to endorse the Government’s latest defence plans outlined in a White Paper last week. Resuming the debate today the Labour Opposition’s foreign policy spokesman (Mr Wilson) asserted that Britain’s insistence on sticking to her own nuclear deterrent was placing “a fatal bar” on preventing the spread of' nuclear weapons.
