FENDALTON RED CROSS
Work During Year Drivers from the Fendalton sub-centre of the Red Cross Society had covered more than 3000 miles during the year in Red Cross work, it was announced at the annual meeting. This included delivering "meals-on-wheels” and taking blind persons, patients from the Rannerdale Home and disabled servicemen tor drives. Members had assisted at the Cerebral Palsy School, at the Blood Bank, and delivered
library books to “Holly Lea.” Four hundred garments had been sent to Red Cross headquarters, and 13 layettes to Hong Kong. Officers elected were: president, Mrs G. Anderson; vice-presidents, Mesdames E. E. Luttrell, A. E. Foote, E. McCrea-nor, I. Free, A. D. Harman, Misses J. E. Fulton, and J. Wilkin; secretary, Mrs A. H. Weir; treasurer, Mrs E. Milliton; committee, Mesdames R. A. Cuthbert, E. F. L. Hill, R. de G. Robilliard. E. A. McFarlane, J. Boyd-Clarke, R. Simes, E. H. J. Hammer, C. Peate, P. J. Flood, R. J. Columbus. D. Leckie, H. Kent, H. P. Smith, J. D. Gardiner, G. Faulk, and H. Prescott.
