Fire Brigade Institute
(from Out Own Reporter) WESTPORT Mar 7 A report on ftre-fightine methods, entitled “Houseburn.” was given by Chief Officer N G. Buick (Palmerston North) who was reelected as chairman of the New Zealand Fire Brigades ) Institute, at the conference; of the United Fire Brigades') Association. He showed j slides of methods of dealing [ with a house fire at a film evening later. The secretary, Mr J. R j Buckland (Titirangi) and Station Officer T R. Highway (Onehunga) were appointed to the institute as commissioners. The Chief Fire Service Officer (Mr T. A. Varleyi. after presenting dinlomas to trainees of the institute gave an address on the civil defence movement. He also showed films on fire fighting in the evening.
