AGREEMENT ON POTTERY
Retailers Seek Assurances < N.Z Press Association) QUEENSTOWN. March 7. The Retailers’ Federation is to ask the Government whether there are any agreements existing between it and any domestic pottery industry in New Zealand. If so, it will request details of such agreements. This was decided when recommendations from various trade sections were discussed at the last day of the conference today. It was also agreed to send a letter to the Minister of Customs asking him to confirm or deny the existence of a protective agreement for the manufacture of sheet linoleum in New Zealand. The federation will seek an assurance that if such manufacture is to be taken up locally, the price from the manufacturer will be no more than the landed price of such goods and will not affect the volume of import licences granted to the trade.
