FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A trough of low pressure extends northwards from the North Island. An anti-cyclone centred over the Tasman Sea extends across the South Island. A deep depression lies to the south of Tasmania. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate north-easterlies on the coast and weather partly cloudy and mild with areas of drizzle or fog at night and in the morning; weather fine and warm inland. Outlook: similar conditions. West Coast.—Moderate westerlies; partly cloudy and mild. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson.—Light winds, cloudy and mild. Outlook: partly cloudy. Marlborough.—Moderate south-easterlies predominating; weather cloudy and rather warm; areas of coastal drizzle or fog in the morning and some occasional rain developing during the day.
