CONSTRUCTION FEDERATION
Decision This Year On Formation A decision whether to proceed with the formation of the proposed Construction Industry Federation will be reached during 1962, says the annual report of the Master Builders’ Federation. “Support was received from several sub-contracting organisations and a draft constitution was adopted and subjected to several amendments. An endeavour was made to initiate incorporation under the Incorporated Societies Act,” says the report. “However there was a lack of support from some professional organisations. It would appear these bodies are reluctant to affiliate with a federation, such as that envisaged, because of the possibility the federation could be involved in some aspects of industrial matters."
