WAGE CLAIM
Court Hearing Opens Today <N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 5. The hearing of a claim for r. 10.2 per cent, increase in wages throughout New Zealand will begin in the Court of Arbitration tomorrow morning. The claim is lodged by the New Zealand Furniture Workers' Union on behalf of the New Zealand Federation of Labour, whose president iMr F. P. Walsh) is appearing as advocate. The workers' submissions will be answered by the secretary of the New Zealand Employers' Federation iMr P J. Luxford) at a later date. It is understood the Court will hear the New Zealand Sheep Farmers’ Association’s application for a 10 per cent, reduction in wages after the hearing of the claim for the 10.2 per cent, increase.
