Mr W. E. Crawford, of Whangarei, has been reelected chairman of the New Zealand section of the Commonwealth Press Union.— P.A. The Lyttelton Borough Council has been notified by the Health Department that Mr J. L. O'Callaghan has been appointed borough health inspector in place of Mr R. B. Ayrey. Mr B. W. Smyth, who has been metropolitan tutor for the last four years and was North Canterbury tutor for nine years before that has resigned from the adult education department of the University of Canterbury to join a commercial firm. Mr Smyth recently succeeded Mr G. C. A. Wall in charge of the radio programme. “Bookshop.” He will leave the university on March 31. Mr S. R. Morrison, director of adult education in Auckland. will represent New Zealand at a conference in Saigon next month arranged by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation.—P.A
