Cyanide Found In Stream
( N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 4. The cause of the death of hundreds of eels in the Waiwhetu stream on Wednesday has been found to be cyanide, and its source has been traced to a factory at Naenae. The cyanide, which is used in one of the factory’s processes, was inadvertently tipped into a sewer from a plating bath and found its way into the stream.
