N.Z. Boat In Ninth Place (NX. Press Assn.—Copyright) ST. PETERSBURG (Florida). March 4. The Australian Flying Dutchman skipper, R. Tasker, seiled into third position behind Britain’s S. Jardine and J. Fogh, of Denmark, In the first heat of the Flying Dutchman world sailing championship yesterday. Tasker pulled across the line to mark up 903 points in the opening race_ The New Zealander, B Skinner. finished ninth with 428 points. He sailed consistently, but failed to better his middle of the pack start over the 10-miie Olympic course. Skinner rounded the first marker in eighth position, and held it in the second end third, but finished ninth. Winds blowing out ol a leaden sky over the 10-mile Olympic course in Tampa Bay yesterday were clocked at five to 10 miles an hour. The remaining heats will be run on a one-a-day basis to next Saturday, with one day—yet to be chosen—set aside lor rest and repairs. In the Flying Dutchman week open regatta yesterday, the New Zeatander, I. Pryde. finished second In the first neat behind Holland's C Gulcher The first 10 as a result of the first heal were: S.
