SHELTERED WORKSHOP
Classes Five Days A Week Planned The Canterbury Sheltered Workshop Association’s classes at its headquarters in Antigua street would be run on a five-day week basis from this week, the secretary (Miss C. E. Robinson) announced. Until now, most of those attending had come in on only three or four days a week, Miss Robinson said. From this week, a cooking class would be held on Thursday afternoons and there would be a full range of classes on Tuesdays, when previously only a few special handcraft pupils had attended. The workshop had 26 young people on its roll —11 boys and 15 girls—and there were many more on the waiting list. Two boys had been found permanent employment since the beginning of the year.
