Men In Orbit
Sir,—“Observer’ is very ignorant of the knewledge of the Russians on space rocketry prior to World War 11. Every Russian schoolboy knows about Tsoilovsky—the first man to write and publish papers on the three-stage rocket. This he did about 1900. A recent film seen in Christchurch explains the early experiments of Tsoilovsky, and his subsequent successes and failures. I know people in the West are sensitive about claims like this, but it happens to be factual.—Yours, etc., P J A. March 2, 1962.
