Slower Rise In Profit

Consolidated net profit of Woolworths, Ltd., Sydney based chain store proprietors rose £123.000. or 6.5 per cent., to a record £2.020 000 in the year ended January 31. The previous year profit rose 23 4 per cent. The latest result is reached after provision of £607.000 (up £23 000) for depreciation and £1,010.000 (down £28.000) for taxation.
