Under 23 Cricket Canterbury (15) Shares Lead With Auckland

WELLINGTON, Feb. 15. Central Districts was the only team to score full points when the second round in the under-23 cricket tournament ended today. B. Furlong, a leg-break bowler, engineered an Otago collapse and gave Central victory by 70 runs with half an hour to spare. Otago went to pieces second time out after a magnificent late stand in its first innings by tail-endcrs C Croudis and A. Madigan had earned a 43-run lead. Central closed on the join* leaders, Canterbury and Auckland, who managed only first innings’ points. Canterbury left its declaration a little late against Wellington, which had three wickets in hand at the close. Points for the two rounds are: Canterbury and Auckland, 15: Central Districts. 13; Northern Districts, 11; Wellington, 4; Otago, 3. Scores were: — CENTRAL v.
