COMMERCIAL Check To Australian Share Price Rises
Australian share prices, boosted early last week by the announcement of Mr Menzies’ plans to stimulate the economy, eased in trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. New Zealand shares were steady. Shares that eased after recent gains were A.N.1., British Tobacco, Cox Brothers, E.Z. Industries. Henry Jones, J. Gadsden, L. J. Hooker, Myers, Repco, Toppa and Waltons. Best gains among Australian shares were A.C.I. rights and Emperor Mining. Dominion Breweries and New Zealand Insurance were firmer, while good gains were made by Alex Harvey, Claude Neon, Hay’s notes, and J. Watties contributing.
