TWO WOMEN HAVE LUCKY ESCAPE
Car Plunges Down Steep Bank
(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON. February 14.
An elderly Christchurch woman and her daughter escaped serious injury last night when their car left the highway in Buller Gorge and plunged 30 feet down a steep bank.
They were Mrs Enid Alison Pattie <66) and Miss Shirley Alison Pattie (28), of 133 Clyde road, Christchurch The aerdent occurred at 615 pm when Miss Pattie who was driving, is believed to have swung to the left to avoid collision with an oncoming vehicle The car. which overturned on its way down the bank, was extensively damaged about ’he -oof and sides Mrs Pattie sustained euts and bruises on the legs and was treated at the Murchison Hospital Miss Pattie had minor abrasions and suffered from shock.
