16-HOUR HUNT FOR BOY
Found Safe In Paddock (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 14. An extensive search of the Ohura district last night and early today for a missing 11-year-old boy ended this morning when he was found safe in a paddock at Tatu. 10 miles south of Ohura. The boy, William Moi-rison. son of Mr and Mrs J. Morrison, of Puketihi, was happy and heal’hy when found. 16 hours after the search began. The bov left the Ohura Primary School about noon yesterday to attend a music lesson. He failed to arrive at the music teacher’s residence and did not return to school.
His disappearance sparked off an exhaustive hunt at 625 p.m. A circle of 50 searchers was thrown around the Ohura district, but at 10.30 nm. there was no sign of him.
Forty-six searchers returned home while the others worked throughout the night.
This morning, 90 people, divided into 10 parties, combed hilly, broken country until a farmer found the boy at 10.15 a.m. He had slept the night in a paddock.
