NEW BRIDGE OVER THE MOHAKA RIVER.—The first half of the steelwork for the high-level bridge across the Mohaka river on the Napier-Tanpo road. The cantilever from the 130ft pier is 135ft Good progress has been made with the erection of the 708ft steel truss bridge. Steelwork should be finished next month, and the concrete decking by June, by which time the approach roads will be ready for traffic. The other pier is 75ft high.
