Dismissal By Judges

WELLINGTON, Feb 14 The appeal of Mr M. M Hibbard, owner of Studio, against the horse being relegated from first to third in the Metropolitan Handicap
at Riccarton on November 11. 1961, on the grounds of interference, was dismissed today by the appeal judges of the New Zealand Racing Conference. After an inquiry into interference in the Metropolitan Handicap the C.J C judicial committee awarded the race to Compensate, which had finished second to Studio, and Desert Chief (third), was promoted to second
Mr Hibbard appealed to the Canterbury district committee. which upheld the decision of the judicial committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club, and it was against this finding that Mr Hibbard appealed to Conference appeal judges. The judges, Messrs D Perry, G. P. Donnelly and H. M. B. de Latour, heard counsel for the appellant and the Canterbury District Committee. Also they perused the notes of evidence and photographic evidence.
