Competition Results Although conditions for gardening had been adverse owing to dry weather, the standard had been generally high, said the secretary of the Papanui Beautifying Association. Mrs F. M. Hunt, in her report on the competitions. Results were:— Robert McDougall Challenge Cup for the most beautiful garden as viewed from the street: Mr and Mrs A. Murray, 78 Proetor street. 89 points, 1; V Beggs, 21 Claremont avenue, 88 points, 2; Mr and Mrs F. W. Walton, 18 Kenwyn avenue. 87 points. 3. Rosemary Simes Memorial Cup for the best all-round garden not exceeding 55 feet: Mr and Mrs F. L. Walton. 18 Kenwyn avenue, 87 points. 1; Mrs N. Whiting. 184 Condell avenue. 82 points. 2; Mrs H. H. Watson. 166 Condell avenue, 78 points. 3. L. J. Mitchell Rose Bowl for the best garden not having won first place in the open competition: Mr and Mrs F. W. Walton. 18 Kenwyn avenue Nico] Hart Cup for the best effort of beautification outside the front fenceline: Mr and Mrs N„ J. Quirk. 34 Halliwell avenue, 1; Mr and Mrs N. G. Allington, 155 Condell avenue, 2: Mrs T. Jeal. 74 Proctor street. 3 Certificates Certificates were awarded to gardens receiving 75 points or more, as follows: Aorangi road. Mrs L. Barwick (60), W. J.
