The nominations committee of the Christchurch Citizens' and Ratepayers' Association will meet this evening to rhoose a candidate for the Riccarton-Paparua seat on the Christchurch Drainage Bpard The vacancy on the board was caused by rhe death of Mr A I Hancock in a road accident recently Mr Hancock was elected unopposed at the board's triennial election in October, and was a Citizens* Association member
The Riccarton Labour Representation Committee has taken no action to call for candidates, but the secretarv 'Mr J Noonan) said las' evening 'hat it was possible rha’ a branch would mak c a nomination before the end nt the week Nominations close at noon on Fridav with the returning officer. Mr T. A Tucker, the board’s secretary If an election is necessary it will be held on Wednesday, March 7.
