COMMERCIAL Firmer Market For N.Z. Shares Yesterday
New Zealand shares, which were less buoyant towards the close of trading last week, opened on a very firm note yesterday with 11 rises and four falls.
Crystal Ice, Northern Steel rights and Winstones all made good gains. Alloy Steel, in first recorded business for five months, lost 4s to sell at 465. Other price movements by New Zealand shares were minor. Amalgamated Wireless and H. C. Sleigh made the best gains among Australian shares. Concrete Industries fell 6d to 14s 3d. Other price movements among Australian shares were mainly upward.
